What is the difference between private and group retreats?
- Private Retreats- 1 on 1 facilitation by your guide and the whole experience is catered to your needs.
- Group Retreats- To provide quality care and service we provide small group facilitation to give each participant our attention while working with the whole group. Group experiences are transformative.
Can I attend and participate if I am currently taking anti-depressants before the retreat?
Anti-depressants come in many different types, classes, and dosages. However, once the pre-health assessment questionnaire is completed each participant’s medications will be reviewed and approved on a case by case basis.
Do you work with couples? Or is it better to come alone?
Yes, of course, we do. We recommend you do what is best for you and your spouse. Some participants require more time to focus and concentrate on themselves and their own intentions. But when couples are in agreement and ready, we are willing and able to facilitate couples, friends, or business partners.
What is the minimum age requirement to participate in a retreat?
The minimum age is 18 years of age or older. However, we are willing to make exceptions for participants 17 years of age or older with prior approval.
Is this a guided ceremony?
Yes, this is a guided journey. The facilitators on our team each have unique skills and years of experience. You will be under the supervision of a trained and licensed nurse for the entire retreat.
Why should I come to Zion Life instead of other retreats?
As trained medical professionals we pride ourselves in providing a safe, set, and setting to facilitate your journey. We are unique at Zion Life Retreats, your journey will be facilitated by a Nurse Facilitator, with an on-call physician. Our support staff is trained and certified in CPR/First Aide for extra safety measures. We thrive to provide quality care and services in a private home-like setting that combines our personal, clinical, and professional experiences all in one. We are not just trip sitters that accept a bunch of participants with inadequate staff to monitor and facilitate before, during, and after your ceremony.
Can I just attend one ceremony or multiple ceremonies?
Everyone is different and has different needs. So it really depends on you. Whether you want to participate multiple times or just a single session to start, we welcome you.
Is a special diet required before the retreat?
No, a special diet is not required like ayahuasca or other sacred plants, our sacrament does not require a special diet. We do recommend no eating at least 4-6 hours before the ceremony and reducing processed food, red meats, etc. 2 weeks prior.
Do you provide transportation to and from the airport?
Yes, we provide transportation to and from the airport. This is included in the retreat package at no extra cost. Flights should be booked to arrive at Norman Manley International Airport (KIN), Kingston Jamaica. Once you arrive at the airport you will be greeted by a Zion Life staff member holding a sign waiting for your arrival. We recommend booking flights that arrive in Kingston between 12noon-4pm to reduce waiting as other retreat guests have flights arriving during this time also. However, if you plan on providing your own transportation to and/or from the airport please make us aware so that we may provide additional details. (Note: Pick up and/or drop is not included from Montego Bay Airport. If you choose to fly into Montego Bay transportation to and from the airport will be at your expense)
What will I be paying for and what is included in cost?
The cost includes guided journey facilitation, talk therapy, room and board, meals, drinks, transportation to and from the airport. There is no cost for the psilocybin. Credit/Debit card statements will display ZionLife. Cashiers’ checks and money orders may be written to Zion Life, LLC.
Can I purchase a retreat for a gift for someone else?
Of course! We all love the gift of giving and we gladly accept gift retreat bookings on behalf of a friend or loved one.
